The Book Theif

This is my first post. In these posts i will state MY opinions about the books.

Since i want to be a journalist when i grow up i decided...what the heck, practice makes perfect [fathers idea]. My first book that i am going to talk about is:

The Book Thief- By Markus Zusak
This was my first book that i read by Markus Zusak and this book is much more different then the other ones that he wrote. This book really stood out from the past books because it was narrated by a character called, Death. Its not a name its a statement. I do not know what the author thought when he narrated the book my death but i think its amazing that someone has that kind of imagination and knowledge to do so. From my point of view i saw that this book was informing people of the evil that was done during the Holocaust. Also about how totally ordinary people did little things that just made one person have a smile on there face during his or her suffering life. For example in this book the father of a little girl gave a marching Jew a piece of bread. That marching Jew has gone through noting but suffering and hate and one day an ordinary man gives him a piece of bread. The story in this book was set during World War II. But i have never read a book that was about Germans, only Jews suffering. In this book it is set around an orphan girl who is brought to a poor German family. To get out of her misery she steals books from a wealthy German family and it turns out she enjoys them very much. My favorite part of this part about this book is the strong language that the author used, i could seriously picture almost every moment of the book and i could feel what he characters were feeling. Anyone who is into little things turning into big things would like this book =]
.5/6/07.
